There are killers who stalk their prey, learning all they can about an intended target before striking. Some commit the act of murder out of hatred or revenge for someone in their lives. Killers like Detlev Guenzel searched for like-minded souls who would allow them to indulge in their deepest darkest fantasies. Then of course, there are those who brutally murder for no apparent reason whatsoever.

Each of the four true crime murder cases in this true crime anthology are different from each other in many ways the wife who was cast aside for a much younger model; the vore who sought out a willing participant in the act of consensual homicide and cannibalism; the young man who butchered his elderly neighbours; and the man whose partners either disappeared or turned up dead over the period of 54 years.

For these true crime murder stories we delve into the background of each killer, the acts they committed, and the criminal investigation that brought them down. We look at why they killed, even when there seems to be no apparent motive. True murder cases like these are hard to fathom, and will leave you wondering about the horrors of humanity. True crime stories are the most frightening of all, as you discover what people have the capability of doing to others.

This is a prequel to Jack Rosewood's best true crime book series, True Crime Stories.

True Crime Stories A Prequel 4 Shocking True Crime Cases (Audible Audio Edition) Jack Rosewood Kevin Kollins Wiq Media Books

Florida author Jack Rosewood inherited his fascination for heinous crimes from his father, a journalist covering major grim crimes such as Ted Bundy. He is fascinated with serial killers – their development psychologically, their preparation for their life of crime, and the details of how they made their bloody black marks on the world. Jack moves away from his intensive studies of serial killers to explore strange crimes most of which are discoveries for the reader – even the Jack Rosewood reader! In addition to his books on individual serial killers he has published four collections. He calls these collections TRUE CRIME STORIES: TRUE CRIME ANTHOLOGY and in this volume, a Prequel to this Shocking True Crimes he shares four very shocking and strange crimes that have eluded the widespread press.

As usual Jack opens with an introduction explaining the decision to place these gruesome stories before us: ‘There are many types of murderers that live among us, many of whom seem like normal, well-respected members of the community they live in. Some even wear a uniform, sworn to protect and serve the people, yet harbor dark and dangerous fantasies and longings unknown to those around them. Murder rips a person from their life in such a brutal and horrific manner that it leaves those behind with many unanswered questions. Often, the answers they seek are never given by the murderer, and there is never any type of closure. Then, there are the murderers that happily talk about what they have done, smiling and reliving every evil moment with more than an ounce of pleasure. This book contains the stories of four very different murderers; the man with the missing wives; the woman who was scorned by a cheating husband; the neighbor that decided to kill the couple next door; and the police officer who indulged in murder and cannibalism. Each case is more shocking than the last, and most are fairly recent crimes. The four cases are briefly outlined below:
Felix Vail - When Felix Vail’s first wife died in an apparent tragic accident, people sympathized with the man and his infant son. Even when his partner disappeared years later, again, it seemed like a horrible coincidence. But when his second wife vanished, suspicions arose that perhaps Vail was hiding a terrible secret. What followed was the closure of one of the oldest cold cases in America, and the arrest of the oldest suspect to date.
At the age of 76, Vail’s trial began on August 8 2016. It was the oldest prosecution in US history of a suspected serial killer. It had been almost 54 years since Mary Horton had died.

Betty Broderick - When a spouse embarks on an affair, very little thought is often given to the repercussions that may follow. Daniel T. Broderick III probably thought that once he divorced his wife, everything would be fine. But, he was very wrong. In 1989, while married to his second wife, his former wife, Betty, made her way into their home and murdered the couple while they lay in their beds.

Scott Tomaszewski - An elderly couple were slaughtered in their home on Mother’s Day, 10 May, 2015. The whole community was shocked and terrified that such a horrific act of violence could be committed on such a well-respected couple. The hunt was now on for a brutal killer, and the man at the center of the investigation was Scott Tomaszewski. The chase would lead authorities to a cruise ship, and evidence found in his belongings left no doubt they had definitely found the man responsible.

Detlev Guenzel
- Police officers, regardless of which country they reside in, are generally thought of as being pillars of society, the rescuers, the brave, and the protectors of all. Detlev Guenzel was a highly regarded forensic specialist for the German police, and had spent decades helping to solve cases through handwriting analysis. But Guenzel had a very dark secret - a fantasy that is beyond comprehension for the majority of the population. Guenzel had an overwhelming desire to eat human flesh.

What makes Jack’s book so fascinating is the manner in which he writes the chronology of the murders and the manner in which the killer was caught and the process of the law. There is so much to learn from these fascinating but terrifying tales and Jack Rosewood is the reigning champion of these investigations. Grady Harp, March 17

True Crime Stories A Prequel 4 Shocking True Crime Cases (Audible Audio Edition) Jack Rosewood Kevin Kollins Wiq Media Books Reviews

Bestselling author Jack Rosewood does not disappoint with this book with all of the surprises in it. This really was one of those "hard to put down" books and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

It's an insightful and graphically detailed account of some of the most horrific real life crimes. In fact, while reading yet another of Jack Rosewoods books I just had to keep turning the pages yet again. Not necessarily because it's all that enjoyable in any way, shape or form, to delve a little too deeply into the malefic minds of such murderous individuals, but because I sincerely believe that most people are fascinated in one way or another by serial killers. Perhaps it’s the human morbid fascination with death. I’m not exactly sure. However, maybe it just astounds the average person as to how depraved another individual can be.

The book delves deeply into four fascinating and shocking true crime cases. Even if you are a seasoned campaigner of true crime, True Crime Stories A Prequel 4 Shocking True Crime Cases will surely raise more than a few hairs on the back of your neck. It was a good read and the author gave a perspective to these horrific crimes that was both fascinating and intriguing. This was one of the better true crime books that I have read recently.

I would highly recommend this read to all fans of the true crime genre. I’m also a big fan of Jack Rosewood so it’s another 5 Stars from me. Well done again!
Here is another fascinating but horrendous crime stories. All crimes are not good, Jack can find them no matter where they are. Like he would say, even in our own backyard, or our next door neighbor. That is really scary and it always makes you wonder and also be on alert. What a way to live! Terrible, that there are so many serial criminals and just sick people in this world. As we all know, each criminal is different, yet, many are the same. They all have a morbid past or live double lives. This book here, had my nerves on edge so much. My husband had to keep asking me if I was okay when he would pass me in the room. He said I kept making faces, cringing, and like I was scared. I didn't stop reading to explain, just nodded, barely. This is what these stories do to me. It is because of the author, Mr. Jack Rosewood! What an amazing job he does in writing about these monsters. All I can say is that the phrase "eat me" ( excuse my bluntness) went to far. Sick people out there, so many of them is astonishing and just pure disgust. As far as taking another person's life, because he said so, or left a note, sorry, that is just plain murder to me. Who are they to take another person's life, that person isn't the judge nor jury. He or she should get the death penalty, that is murder! I know some states dissolved the death penalty, let them rot in prison for the rest of their like. This goes for all of the criminals not just the "Suicide Helpers". I have to say, Jack does an amazing job with each and every book. So good, he can't help to keep on writing another book very quickly. He has so many, many stories and many criminals to write about. I would be so tired of looking up all the info on each individual and try to make a good story. Not Jack, he does what he loves and it shows how dedicated he is in all his work. Each book is so great, I couldn't pick a favorite cause they all leave me in awe. I have the persons faces in my brains, and that is scary. I always visualize when I read. In these stories, that is not a good thing. My mind can't help it, I wish I didn't have to see there sorry faces. When a person is sick in the mind, sometimes, you can sympathize for them, if for a good reason. But, to be sick and a criminal, killer, is more like it, that is another thing. There is certainly no pity whatsoever. I have to say, thank you, Jack, for another great book. You are a truly blessed author and person.
